After a VERY long journey it was SO EXCITING to finally arrive in Cyprus and start the holiday! My dad's family is from Cyprus so when we arrived at the airport we had a big welcoming party and it was so exciting to meet everyone and see people we had met when they had come to AUS in the past! We went straight to a big family lunch, which was really nice and then went home had a little rest. We stayed with some cousins of ours which was actually really cool. It was nice going home to a house every night and not a hotel. We then went sightseeing around Larnaca. We went to the fort of Larnaca which was very cool to see! It is a piece of history! We saw canons used in the war, gallows and very interesting things. We also walked along the boardwalk through the restaurants and looked at the beach which was lovely. We also went to the church of Lazarus and saw his tomb which was very interesting to see.
When our cousin said we were having dinner at the beach we never knew how literally he meant it! We had a beautiful traditional dinner ON THE BEACH watching the sunset and it was magical! We had a wonderful night with all of our family at the coolest location! We had a really busy day, especially considering we arrived at lunch time that day after around 2 days of travel! I had a great first day in Cyprus and was so excited for the week to come!

The Phi Phi Island tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to Phuket! JUST LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THE SCENERY WAS! We had a speedboat tour of the Phi Phi islands and had an incredible day. The scenery from the boat was stunning, absolutely magical! The colour of the water was amazing and there were so many shades of blue and green and it was very serene. We went to Monkey beach which was so much fun! It was a little beach full of monkeys jumping around and playing everywhere! They were so cute! I loved seeing the babies. When our boat was leaving two monkeys jumped on and attacked us as we had food, it was hilarious!
We also went to Phi Phi Island and had a nice lunch and a look around and then went for a magical swim at Maya bay! It was just as beautiful as all of the post cards! The only difference was that on the post cards, there are no people swimming but in real life there was 100 boats there and tourists everywhere but was amazing all the same! We also stopped at this stunning area and jumped off the boat and went snorkelling. The water and the rock/island was so beautiful to be amongst. On the boat we saw these amazing old bat caves which were picturesque. We had such an incredible day at the islands and I think it is a place everyone should experience once in their lifetime! I had an amazing time on the James Bond Island/ Phang Nga Bay tour in Phuket. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PLACE! Thailand is really like no other place I have ever been. I had a magical day exploring the islands, and going canoeing in the caves. The day started off on the speedboat en route to James Bond Island. The scenery was gorgeous. The rock structures were very beautiful. James Bond Island was so cool to see in person! We explored the tiny island which was a very unique and beautiful place to see. We went to a small fishing village built on the water for lunch which was INCREDIBLE. The village was home to 2500 people and it was an amazing place, I have no idea how they would have built it!
We went canoeing in Phang Nga Bay which was also a very exciting experience! I LOVED IT. The caves were incredible. Sometimes the entrances to the caves were very low so you had to lie back to get in, and once you got in it was beautiful. Some of the areas were pitch black and others were filled with light. What an amazing experience! We had such a fun day on this tour, the scenery was sensational, the canoeing was beautiful and we had such an exciting time. Definitely a must do when visiting Phuket, Thailand. Arriving in Phuket, Thailand was so exciting! When we finally got out of the airport (the customs took forever) we got in the bus and headed to our beautiful resort 'Katathani Phuket Beach Resort'. The drive to the resort was eye opening to say the least. We drove through all of the shanty towns and saw the REAL side of Phuket that you don't see on the internet. The electrical wiring was all tangled and really crazy to see. It was really sad to see all the people selling things from their front yards and the lives that these people live.
When we finally arrived at the hotel after a long plain flight and drive it was wonderful to be greeted with cold towels and lychee juice. The resort was BEAUTIFUL! There were stunning pools and beautiful facilities and our room was lovely. It was a real tropical paradise! We had our own beach and were only a short walk away from some restaurants and shops. We were about a twenty minute tuk tuk ride away from Patong and Kata beach. It was good to be a bit away from all of the action as the town was WILD as you will read about in one of my next blog posts! We had a nice dinner not far from the resort and a much needed quiet night in. Stay tuned for more Phuket adventures. On my way to Phuket, Thailand, I was lucky enough to have a 24 hour stopover in Singapore! Although we had a short time in the gorgeous country, we wanted to make the most of every hour! We stayed at the Novotel in Clarke Quay which was a great location and a short walk away from all the excitement! We walked to Clarke Quay and had a look around the area. We had an Uncle's Ice-cream sandwich, which is something all tourists must do while in Singapore! We walked to Chinatown and I loved seeing the lanterns and the beautiful buildings. We had dinner at 'Hawker Chan' the worlds cheapest Michelin Star restaurant and our chicken and rice was delicious! For only $3.00 my dinner was fabulous! I loved Chinatown and would recommend it to anyone in Singapore, it is a great place to go. After experiencing China town, we went to Gardens By The Bay. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! The Gardens By The Bay were so beautiful. They were green and lush and quite magical. We went into the dome 'Cloud Forest' and it was so beautiful. There was a waterfall and so many beautiful plants and you really did feel like you were in a 'Cloud Forest'. After exploring that dome we went to The 'Supergrove Trees show'. That was amazing! The supergrove trees are gorgeous and seeing the Marina Bay Sands building in the background was special. The trees changed colour with the beat of the music and it was absolutely beautiful! I definitely recommend doing this while in Singapore. It was so sad to leave in the morning, but the holiday wasn't over yet! Stay tuned for Phuket, Thailand!
In December 2015, I spent a fabulous day at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Cabo was one of the ports on a Mexican Riviera cruise that we did on the Crown Princess. I absolutely loved Cabo. We had such a wonderful day there! We started off by taking a boat from the mainland to the beach, which was a great way to see the beautiful rock formations and the seals! The rock formations were incredible to see and it was fabulous to see the seals in their natural habitats.
We spent the day swimming in the pristine water and taking the beautiful place in. The dads all loved spending the day drinking their $1 coronas while relaxing in the water. I bought some beautiful jewellery from people selling it on the beach and enjoyed reading my book in a beach chair. I also went parasailing which was quite the experience! I was a bit scared but the views were breathtaking (especially with 4 cruise ships docked!) and that was definitely the highlight of my day in Cabo San Lucas. But unfortunately, the day had to come to an end and we had to get back on the ship and sail away. I would love to go back there again someday. There are some places that I just can't get enough of. Places that I just want to keep going back to and don't get sick of. Here is my list of magical and timeless destinations I have been to: Yosemite National Park, near San Francisco is such a magical place to stay at for a few days or just for a day trip. It is a beautiful place all year round, but I think the magic truly happens in Winter. The views are absolutely breathtaking and I could look at them for hours on end. The snow was also so much fun to play in and throw snowballs with. Yes it is a long drive to get there from San Francisco but the view out the window is magical and you won't get bored. I loved seeing all of the wildlife; foxes and squirrels and birds playing/fighting. It was like a live David Attenborough documentary! Yosemite is such a BEAUTIFUL place! Port Vila, Vanuatu
In my opinion, Vanuatu is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I have visited four times and love it even more every time that I go. The small islands such as Hideaway, Iririkki and Pele are absolutely incredible and have such beautiful snorkelling and gorgeous ocean views. The Cascade waterfalls and Blue lagoon are nothing short of beautiful and such wonderful places to visit. The people are the friendliest people I have ever met, they barely have anything but are overly generous and so happy all the time. I have met some amazing people there that I will never forget. Vanuatu is a place that I will never cease to love and think everyone should visit and experience. CLICK TO READ MORE Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA is one of the most exciting places I have ever been. It was so exciting to walk down the strip and go from New York to Paris to Venice in one day! The hotels and casinos are so beautiful and unique. I stayed at Paris for four nights and had an absolute blast, I felt like I was in Europe! The rooms were beautiful and so was the pool, casino and the shopping area. I loved the atmosphere in Vegas, there was always something exciting happening everywhere you look. While in Vegas, I spent my days going from hotel to hotel and looking at the exciting things each country had to offer! New York had a roller coaster and Venice had gondola rides! I also went shopping at the outlets and bought gorgeous things for affordable prices. I also went to the Grand Canyon on a helicopter and that was an INCREDIBLE experience! The Grand Canyon was so beautiful and it was amazing seeing it from up so high! Las Vegas is fabulous during the day, but the real party starts at night! There are so many amazing shows to see and the theatres they are shown in blew my mind! We saw a variety show, La Reve 'The Dream' which was absolutely incredible and a Cirque De Solei show called 'Mystere' which of course we loved. Seeing shows in Vegas is a must do! The lights at night from all of the hotels are so beautiful, you don't know where to look! Vegas is one of my favourite places. Las Vegas is by far the most exciting and exhilarating place I have ever been and I recommend everyone going and making the most of a truly unique experience!
Recently, my family and I went on the Voyager Of The Seas on a cruise around the South Pacific. Noumea was our first port of call! Noumea is the capital city of New Caledonia a collectivity of France, which is situated in the South Pacific. It is a French speaking country but most people also speak English. Noumea is an industrial city with some beautiful beaches. Noumea is hot all year round so anytime of year is a great time to go. I have travelled to Noumea on numerous occasions and I have put together a few things that are great to do while in Noumea!
Firstly, as Noumea is part of a French collectivity, there is lots of French bakeries! They are everywhere so they are easy to find. The food, sweet and savoury are delicious! There is so many delicious things to choose from that you can’t just walk away with one item! When in Noumea, you should definitely also try to go to some markets. There are some lovely handicrafts for sale that local people have made. You will most likely find lots of pretty jewellery, sarongs, clothes and souvenirs. They are also quite affordable. Anse Vata beach is Noumea’s main and best beach. It is a beautiful spot. The water is very blue and calm. There are lots of shady trees, which is great as it gets very hot in Noumea.
