Clear blue skies, magical aqua water and lush green palm trees that cover the entire island - What more could you want? Mystery Island is 100% one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! As you can see from the pictures above, I had an INCREDIBLE day on the island while aboard The Explorer Of The Seas in December. It is absolutely magical to swim in the crystal clear blue water of Vanuatu and watch the gorgeous ship in the distance. On Mystery Island you can do as much as or as little as you like. Whether you want to explore the island which you can walk entirely around in the space of 40 minutes or relax in the water there is something everyone in the family will enjoy.
My day on Mystery Island went like this; I got onto the tender from the ship at around 9:30am and headed over to Mystery Island (**EXCITING!**) First we relaxed in the water close to the shore and took in the majestic views of the island for a few hours. We then had a walk around and had a look at the market stores and watched the cultural performances and songs being performed by the locals. This is a really nice thing to be able to do when on the island. If you are ever going, make sure to bring some spare change or even toys, books etc. to donate to the local preschool and people there as they REALLY APPRECIATE IT! There are numerous different affordable tours you can embark on while on the island - The locals run boat rides out to different snorkelling spots and there are many options depending on what you would like to see! I went on a snorkelling trip which was absolutely beautiful. The snorkelling was wonderful - we saw beautiful fish and even a stingray! I definitely recommend doing a snorkelling tour while on the island. Sadly the day came to an end and we had to get back on the ship. Mystery Island is an incredible place to visit while cruising the South Pacific. If you ever have the opportunity to go - DO IT! Make sure to check out my socials or youtube for more!

Our first port of call on the Explorer Of The Seas was Noumea! I have visited Noumea numerous times and I always love experiencing something new each time I go. This time I went to 'Lemon Beach' on the hop on hop off bus that we caught from the cruise terminal! This was the first time I hadn't done a tour on the island and just done our own thing in town and I had a blast. Lemon Beach was GORGEOUS! Just look at the colour of that water. It was crystal clear blue and was such a lovely temperature for swimming.
My brother and I had a blast jumping off the floating pontoon with all of the local kids and making friends with them! The thing I most loved about going to Lemon Beach was probably socialising and chatting with the locals and doing what they do instead of all the tourist things. After we had a swim we enjoyed a delicious lunch across from the beach and had a nice walk. We also visited a DELICIOUS french Patisserie which is a must do! Noumea is a really fantastic place and I always have a wonderful time there; whether I am snorkelling on a small island, touring the city or simply enjoying the local beach, I always have a whole load of fun! Life on board the beautiful Explorer Of The Seas was always exciting and lots of fun! The great thing about cruising is that you can do as little or as much as you like, so your cruise get away could be full of relaxing and reading on the deck or it could be party, party , party! How do I like to spend my time on board? Well, some days are relax at the pool but others are filled with dancing, entertainment and fun! On the Explorer Of The Seas, I know that when I checked the cruise compass every night for the following day, I was bound to find something exciting to do!
I loved going to the pool deck and tanning on a sun lounge and swimming in the pool or relaxing in the spa. I also loved the daily line dancing classes and music on the deck. I enjoyed going to the sales in the promenade and finding exciting buys, but also loved sitting down and enjoying a good book with beautiful views of the ocean! I absolutely loved spending time on the helipad and reading my book there and taking in the view, you don't get to experience that everyday! Sea days aboard Explorer Of The Seas was always exciting and wonderful, never a dull moment. On the 15th of December 2017 I flew to Sydney and boarded the Explorer Of The Seas! I was so excited to get cruising again and once again visit the beautiful South Pacific Islands. Seeing the ship docked in Sydney Harbour was amazing! Explorer is huge and very beautiful. The boarding process was quite quick which was great and stepping onto the ship for the first was very exciting. We were on the ship before a lot of other people, so it was beautiful to walk down the promenade and see it almost empty, compared to it always being packed on sea days! We then headed to the windjammer buffet for lunch which was of course delicious! And then it was time for the exciting part, exploring the ship!
Explorer Of The Seas was of course, beautiful! The theatre, and the dining room was gorgeous, the pool deck was fantastic and the ice skating, flow rider and rock climbing on board looked like a lot of fun. At around 6:30PM sailing out of Sydney, the cruise really begun! It is always the most exciting part of the cruise for me, because we are sailing out into the pacific ocean about to have an amazing nine nights cruising the South Pacific.
