Our day in Port Villa was really special. Right at the start of the day we met a man called Lester who offered to take us in his water taxi to Hideaway Island, The ladies market in the mainland and to his village on a little island. We had an incredible day. Hideaway Island was grand. The water was so blue and beautiful. We saw lots of beautiful fish and coral! We went out so deep that you couldn't see the bottom just an endless pit of blue!
I wanted to go to the ladies markets especially to see if I could find a wonderful lady called Linda who braided my hair when I was 7 years old. I didn't find Linda as she was away, but I found her lovely daughters! The people were so lovely to us and they really are the most wonderful people in the world!
Lester's village on his island was beautiful! He gave us a tour of his village ans showed us the school, church, gardens and more. We were very honoured when he invited us into his families home and told us to sit down and make ourselves comfortable. He was a really wonderful man! He told us "Vanuatu people are the happiest people in the world, you will never find a country of people that smile so much."
